The SAMES SA9122E Single Phase unidirectional active Power/Energy metering integrated circuit includes a seperate onchip 64 segment Liquid Crystal Display driver. The power/energy metering circuit generates a pulse rate output, proportional to the power consumption, while the LCD driver is programmable via a serial interface. The method of power calculation takes the power factor into account. Energy consumption is determined by the power measurement being integrated over time. |
