The AT73C214 is designed to supply digital, analog, interface, RF and backup sections of generic wireless devices and in particular battery powered applications. It can be used to supply a CPU with a high efficiency DC-to-DC Converter, Radio Frequency transceivers with high PSRR and noise performance LDOs, Memories and Analog Sections with independent LDO channels. In addition the AT73C214 integrates LDOs to recharge backup elements and convert voltage to microcontroller RTC supply. The AT73C214 also includes a low-cost battery charger, using a simple external PNP transistor for Li-Ion or Li-Polymer batteries. The battery-safe operating conditions are fully under hardware control during the start up procedure (i.e., when the device is turned on or a charger is plugged in). The battery precharge is integrated and self operated by the AT73C214. Then the fast-charge phase and end-of-charge procedure are transferred to the external microcontroller software. LDO and DC-to-DC output voltage can be programmed by mask change. |
